Update: Minilance #5203

This Just In: Update on Minilance #5203 from our friends at United Hatzalah

"With the start of the summer season, people take advantage of the weather and head outdoors. However, sometimes these nature visits are more than people bargained for.

It was Monday afternoon and four people in an ATV were speeding over sand dunes when the driver lost control and the off-road vehicle flipped over! The victims managed to call for help.

United Hatzalah volunteers immediately responded. Your minilance capably handled the dirt road enabling medics to arrive quickly. On scene, United Hatzalah volunteer Roberto Ehrlich treated a woman who had to be extricated from the overturned vehicle, having suffered possible spinal injuries, lacerations and contusions. Three other male victims sustained multiple injuries, however at initial glance appeared in somewhat better condition than the other victim. Nonetheless, due to the circumstances of the accident, Roberto knew that the victims may all have sustained spinal injuries. He grabbed a medic kit and along with other responders provided c-spine stabilization. Then they cleansed and bandaged lacerations as they calmed the scared victims. By the time ambulances arrived on scene, all victims were prepped and ready to be transported to the trauma center.

Your minilance is making a big difference and saving lives. Thank you for partnering with United Hatzalah in lifesaving."
