About Naomi Bollag
"Settling in Santa Barbara, I truly found a way to express my feelings on canvas. My work is about movement, color and emotion. I start by choosing colors and then shapes and the images seem to just create themselves. My hope is that my art will invoke feelings in the viewer that mirror their individuality. I therefore never name my work. I prefer to leave the interpretation to the viewer.
During difficult times of anxiety and stress, I can always turn to my canvases. They have been and are still there for me. Painting is a place where I can escape from stress and feel free to express my feelings without recourse. It feels safe to me and I want those who view my art to feel the same, sort of like an artistic Rorschach method."
