    Office Coordinator

    Classification: Full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt

    Compensation: $25-30/hr, commensurate with experience

    Mission: The Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara is dedicated to building a vibrant and inclusive local Jewish community, to enhancing the well being of Jews in Santa Barbara, Israel and throughout the world, and to strengthening the relationship between the Jewish community and the community at large.

    The Jewish Federation is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and friendly person to join its team at the Bronfman Family Jewish Community Center in downtown Santa Barbara.

    This position will split its time as follows:

    • From 8:30 am-3:00 pm
      • Follow security protocols for allowing visitors to enter the building
      • Create a welcoming environment by greeting guests, answering phone calls, directing visitors, and taking messages for staff
      • Take orders for Etty’s Jewish Deli & Bakery, both over the phone and in person
      • Check-in attendees for meetings, classes, events, and programs
      • Check-in clients for Jewish Family Service appointments

    • From 3:00 pm-5:00 pm
      • Manage donor database including data entry and exporting lists and reports
      • Prepare donor thank you letters for signature and mailing
      • Take minutes and prepare materials for monthly board meetings
      • Coordinate office calendar
      • Other administrative duties as assigned

    Essential Requirements:

    • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and proactive attitude
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
    • Experience with database management and data entry (Blackbaud products, a plus)

    Associate Director of Education

    Classification: Full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt

    Compensation: $70,000-80,000 per year, commensurate with experience

    The Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara seeks to hire a full-time Associate Director of Education to join our team in an exciting moment of growth and revisioning. Located in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara, the Bronfman Family JCC is undergoing a major remodel to expand our current community offerings. Launching in spring 2024, The Marion and Aaron Gural Arts and Culture Center and the Center for Jewish Education will provide the community with a variety of cultural, educational, and seasonal offerings designed to enrich and strengthen the fabric of our growing Jewish community.

    We are seeking a Jewish education professional who is enthusiastic, creative, thoughtful and ready to help us launch into an exciting new chapter.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Oversee all aspects of the planning and implementation for our four-week summer camp
    • Play a pivotal part in the design and implementation of new curriculum and programming for our Center for Jewish Education and our Arts and Culture Center
    • Manage day-to-day activities and programming for Portraits of Survival, our in-house Holocaust education exhibit and program
    • Manage Santa Barbara’s PJ Library enrolment, recruitment, and events
    • Design and implement Jewish holiday and special family events
    • Ability to work weekends and evenings, as well as Jewish holidays as needed.

    Creativity and Vision

    The Associate Director of Education will work closely with the Director of Lifelong Learning and the Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement the Bronfman Family JCC’s vision for The Marion and Aaron Gural Arts and Culture Center, the Center for Jewish Education, and the Portraits of Survival digital museum.

    Community Building

    The Associate Director of Education will work in concert with the Executive Director, the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Lifelong Learning, the board, and lay leaders to design and implement community building programming. The emphasis of this programming will be on engagement and community enrichment.

    Curriculum Development and Implementation

    The Associate Director of Education will work with the Director of Lifelong Learning to design and implement all curriculum related to Camp Haverim, the Center for Jewish Education, the Marion and Aaron Gural Arts and Culture Center, and Portraits of Survival.

    Key Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
    • At least three to five years of experience working in a Jewish camp setting
    • Experience working in a Jewish educational environment, either teaching or in school administration is a plus
    • A team-player who enjoys the camaraderie and creativity of working with others It
    • Ability to effectively and warmly communicate with children, parents, teachers and lay leaders in the community
    • Demonstrates professional integrity and a kind and caring attitude

    Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    (Clinical Supervisor and Mental Health Clinician)

    Classification: Part-time (20 hours/week), non-exempt

    Salary: $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience

    Mission: Jewish Family Service, a department of the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara, is dedicated to strengthening the quality of life for individuals and families throughout their life. JFS offers a wide range of professional counseling and support services, without regard to religion, race, ethnicity, or disability.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for a minimum of two years.
    • Current BBS registration in the State of California
    • Completed or eligible to complete 15 hours of supervisor CE’s to meet California BBS requirements in order to provide clinical supervision to associates and trainees
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
    • Comfortable holding sessions using Tele-health, HIPPA compliant platforms as well as in person
    • Strong verbal/written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
    • Able to work in a busy environment, under pressure, without compromising accuracy, attention to detail or courtesy to staff and others
    • Able to prioritize competing responsibilities, with effective time management skills
    • Able to demonstrate mature judgment, initiative, and critical thinking.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; a willing team member and supportive colleague
    • Respect for confidentiality; ability to work with discretion and integrity
    • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and SimplePractice
    • Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record
    • Able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check

    Preferred Experience:

    • Previous experience working in the nonprofit sector
    • Knowledge of Medicare documentation standards

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise part-time Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and trainee(s)
    • Provide documentation/note review for associates and trainees
    • Provide therapy to diverse age groups (children, adolescents, adults, and older adults) with a variety of diagnoses.
    • Build upon therapeutic skills using individual and family treatment modalities.
    • Create a treatment plan with measurable and observable goals in collaboration with supervisor, client, and caregivers.
    • Complete clinical assessment with clients to assess their strengths and needs from a clinical perspective.
    • Provide developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions for children and families.
    • Knowledge of, and willingness to learn about factors that impact a diverse caseload of clients
    • Experience with providing care through a trauma-informed lens.
    • Coordinate with other agencies when appropriate to implement client’s treatment plan.
    • Determine appropriateness of clinical level care for all new client referrals, and support supervisees in doing the same.
    • Document all client, family and case management that meet Medicare documentation standards.
    • Communicate with clients and billing service about insurance coverage and ensure that relevant information is included in all client charts.
